When Item Details is selected from an item in the Alert Center dashboard, a dialog appears which presents all available information about that item. This dialog enables you to acknowledge, resolve, and annotate alert events observed by WhatsUp Gold. The following information is presented:
- Item. The display name of the item that triggered the alert.
- Created by. The threshold the device breached.
- Aspect. The aspect of device that is out of threshold.
- Value. The actual value observed by Alert Center.
- Current state. The current state of device threshold.
- Notification progress. The most recent notification sent per the notification schedule.
- Created on: The date and time the threshold was breached.
- Last updated. The date and time the Alert Center item was most recently updated.
From here, you can take the following actions:
- Acknowledge. An acknowledged item is a known issue which is being addressed. A notification will not be sent once an item has been acknowledged. The item will still appear in applicable reports.
- Resolve. A resolved item has been addressed and should no longer be a problem. However, if the same issue is detected again, Alert Center will generate a new item. This item will no longer be reported.
Once you've chosen to either Acknowledge or Resolve the item, you can then choose to:
- Apply to this item.
- Apply to entire notification (All items created at the same time as this item).
- Apply to any items older than X number of minutes/hours/days.
- Apply to all items in this threshold.
Lastly, the Alert Center Item Details dialog provides an optional data entry field for you to enter any applicable comments, if desired.
When all selections have been made, click OK to save.
