When the Keep Details Current setting is enabled, it allows a monitored device to be updated both manually and by scheduled rediscovery. However, when this setting is disabled, the monitored device can only be updated when the user requests an update by clicking the Start/Update Monitoring button or by another method which results in a Rescan or Refresh of the monitored device. A user may choose to disable Keep Details Current to either block unwanted updates resulting automatically from discovery scans or to require users to determine when an update occurs, for example. In short, when this setting is enabled, a monitored device may be updated automatically without any user interaction, but when this setting is disabled, the user must manually take action to update a monitored device. Please note, the Keep Details Current setting is enabled by default when a new device is added to and monitored WhatsUp Gold.
