- The first backup of a large Flowmon Collector appliance should always be performed manually. All subsequent backups can be scheduled. When working with large amounts of data, the first backup may take a long time, depending on:
-
Flowmon Collector load
-
Network bandwidth to External Data Storage, and
-
External Data Storage performance.
-
The shortest reasonable backup period is one day, and it should be configured to run periodically some time after midnight, in the early hours of the following day.
-
Do not schedule backups immediately after midnight because this may interfere with various periodic tasks performed by Flowmon Collector appliances. Choosing, for example, 2:00 AM is less likely to interfere with or impact collector performance in a negative way.
