Starting with Flowmon version 11.0.5, there is a new backup mechanism designed specifically for disaster recovery scenarios.
Flowmon Backup is supported for:
-
Flowmon Collector
-
Flowmon Probe
Flowmon Backup is NOT supported for:
-
Flowmon ADS
-
Flowmon APM
-
Flowmon FPI
-
Flowmon DDoS Defender
-
Flowmon DR
-
Flowmon LI
-
Flowmon Distributed Architecture (DA)
Flowmon Backup includes:
-
system configuration
-
database content
-
flow data (on Flowmon Collector)
For system configuration and database content, an independent backup is created on each Flowmon Backup execution. Multiple backups are kept in External Data Storage. The maximum age and/or number of kept backups is configurable.
For flow data, an incremental backup is created on each Flowmon Backup execution. Only flow data that has been processed by Flowmon Collector after the last successful backup are added.
Flow data are always backed up with the granularity of one day. Every backed-up day is a day in the past. If the backup process is executed multiple times in one day, a new backup of system configuration and database content is created but flow data backup remains unchanged (as the previous day has already been successfully backed up).
