To use FIPS mode you must install Progress® OpenEdge Advanced Security (OEAS) license and prepare your system to use FIPS mode.

Install Progress OpenEdge Advanced Security (OEAS) license

You must purchase and install the Progress® OpenEdge Advanced Security (OEAS) license. This license is required to use the cryptographic modules for FIPS mode.

Note: 32-bit OpenEdge installations do not support FIPS mode.

Before enabling FIPS mode

Because FIPS mode is an install wide setting, prior to enabling FIPS mode you must prepare your databases, OpenEdge DataServer for Microsoft SQL Server, PAS for OpenEdge instances, and applications.
