Sending an Ad Hoc package is like sending an email with attachments. A MOVEit Transfer package contains:
  • A message body.
  • One or more file attachments (optional).

What's Needed to Send an Ad Hoc Package

To send a package, you will need either:
  • The username for a current MOVEit Transfer user, or
  • A valid email address (this can also be used for users outside your MOVEit Transfer site's organization also referred to as your "org", when configured by your site's policy).
Note: If the target user for a package is not a user in your MOVEit Transfer site's organization ("org"), you can use your MOVEit Transfer user and send them a package using their email (which makes them a guest user of the system).

Package Size and Folder Quota Limits

Per package (total of attachments) size limit and home folder size limits are controlled be the administrator for your MOVEit Transfer org. Regular users sending packages can apply download limits and expiration dates (when an admin enables this set of capabilities). If the package and download limits are not delegated to your user or group, the default org values will be enforced).

Package Replies

If enabled, a recipient can also reply to a package and send additional attachments, which will also be uploaded to the file transfer server..

Package Access

The organization administrator can set options that determine who can send and receive packages, enforce user- and package-level quotas, and control package expiration and download limits.

Mailbox Use Model

Packages are stored in mailboxes.

You can also access the shared mailboxes of other MOVEit Transfer users if your administrator has enabled this feature.
