Restoring a Forest

Warning:

Before following this procedure on the Windows platform, ensure that users do not have forests, directories, or any subdirectories open.

Restoring data from your backup is a “hot” admin task; the changes take effect immediately.

You can restore a forest from a backup.

v12.1.0 and up

To restore a forest from a backup, follow these steps:

  1. Click Forests in the left tree menu. A list of forests appears.

  2. Click your target forest.

  3. Click the Backup/Restore tab. The Forest Backup/Restore page appears with the Backup tab selected by default.

  4. Click the Restore tab.

  5. In the Restore from directory field, enter the name of the directory that contains the backup copy of the forest.

  6. Click OK. A confirmation message appears.

  7. Click OK again to confirm the restore action.

v12.0.x

To restore a forest from a backup, follow these steps:

  1. Click Forests in the left tree menu. A list of forests appears.

  2. Click your target forest.

  3. Click the Backup/Restore tab. The Forest Backup/Restore page appears.

  4. In the Backup directory field, enter the name of the directory from which you want to restore the forest.

  5. Select the From The Backup Directory radio button under Restore.

  6. Click OK. A confirmation message appears.

  7. Click OK again to confirm the restore action.
