Using Device Properties - Passive Monitors

The Device Properties - Passive Monitors property allows you to configure and manage passive monitors for the device. Passive monitors listen for device events. For example, passive monitors will listen for SNMP traps or unsolicited SNMP messages, Syslog messages forwarded from devices, and any WinEvent. Although passive monitors are managed from the Monitor Library, you can also access the library from this device property. For more information, see Passive Monitors overview.
Configure the following:
- Add. Click to configure a new passive monitor. Follow the directions in the Passive Monitors Properties wizard.
- Options. Select a passive monitor, then use the row menu options to configure the following:
- Edit. Click to change the configuration. Follow the directions in the Passive Monitors Properties wizard.
- Remove. Click to remove the monitor from the device.
- Save. Click to store changes to the device.
