With the current release, MOVEit Transfer adds the following features and improvements.

In-App Notifications

In-app notifications alert you to product releases and critical update availability and acquaint you with new features while you use the MOVEit Transfer UI. In-app notifications are enabled by default. You can also check the MOVEit Resource Center for product update status, release status, and ecosystem of MOVEit product information.

Important: In order to target the right users with in-app notifications, when this feature is enabled, we use a third-party provider to collect and process the following non-personal metadata:
  • MOVEit version.
  • User type (Sys Admin, Org Admin, File Admin, Standard User).
  • MOVEit installation type (whether or not this is an on-premise or MOVEit Cloud account).
  • MOVEit Cloud instance (only provided for MOVEit Cloud customers).
Note: We do not collect any information that would allow us to identify your organization or any users within your organization.

In-App Access to MOVEit Resource Center

To access the Resource Center, click the bell-shaped icon in the MOVEit Transfer UI header. The Resource Center provides links and access to the MOVEit product community and ecosystem, including:
  • Product release information.
  • Knowledge base (KB) information and how-to articles.
  • The MOVEit customer community site.
  • The MOVEit product ideas portal.

Key Encryption Rotation for at-rest System Org Data

In addition to managing and rotating org-specific keys (ORGS tab <org-or-system> - Security Information - Encryption Keys), as system administrator, you can now renew at-rest data encryption (in other words, "rotate encryption keys" for your system data).

Note: This feature allows you to apply an extra measure of security by controlling the time interval between key/passphrase updates.

You must be signed-on as SysAdmin to apply these settings.

New Storage Reports for File Age

MOVEit Transfer enables you to check the age of files on your system with new storage reports. This allows you to identify files that might be in need of cleanup.

Outlook Add-in Improvements (July 2024 Refresh)

The Outlook Add-in has new updates, bug fixes, and dependency refreshes.

System Admin Controls for IP Address Blocking (Sep 2024 Refresh)

New controls enable system administrator users (sys admins) to prevent organization admin users (org admins) from unlocking all IP addresses. This enables SysAdmin users to maintain better control and block access from unwanted or unsafe IP address ranges.
