If your sign-on attempt fails, an error message appears: "Invalid username/password or not allowed to sign on from this location."

Access Denied Notes

To prevent giving up clues about our users, a generic message displays when a sign-on attempt fails, regardless of the reason. This generic message is intentional and prevents a type of exploit sometimes referred to as "username harvesting."

For assistance, click Help at the bottom of the Sign-on page.

Common Reasons Access is Denied

  • Temporary access expired. (Access can be time-restricted or based on a download limit.)
  • Account has been suspended (for too many bad sign-on attempts, password aging, or manual administrator action).
  • Account is not allowed to sign on from a specific IP address.
  • IP address has been locked out (for too many bad sign-on attempts, often with different usernames).
  • Client certificate has not been provided when one is required, or a bad client certificate has been provided.
  • Username is incorrect.
  • Password is incorrect.
