To configure Global Balancing on the LoadMaster, follow these steps. The Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) set during configuration serves as the Pure Storage namespace used to access the storage. These steps can be performed on one LoadMaster in the GSLB configuration and will be replicated to the others.

  1. In the main menu, select Global Balancing.
  2. Select Manage FQDNs.

  3. In New FQDN, provide the Pure Storage Namespace.
  4. Click Add FQDN.

  5. Update the Selection Criteria:

    • Scale (Active/Active): If traffic should be distributed across all Pure Storage clusters, select Round Robin.

    • Disaster Recovery (Active/Passive): If some Pure Storage clusters are intended to remain active while others are passive, select Fixed Weighting.

  6. Expand IP Addresses:
    • For New IP Address, enter the Virtual IP address (VIP) of the first Pure Storage FlashBlade//S cluster.
    • For Cluster, select the LoadMaster created earlier that is located in the same site or location as the corresponding Pure Storage FlashBlade//S cluster.
    • Click Add Address.

  7. For the Checker, select ICMP Ping, enter the IP address of the Pure Storage FlashBlade//S cluster VIP, and click Set Address.

    (Optional) – if Fixed Weighting was chosen for the Selection Criteria, enter the appropriate Weight. (Weights with higher value with be used as Active and those with lesser value will be used as Passive.)

Repeat these steps for the remaining Pure Storage FlashBlade//S clusters. Once complete, all cluster VIPs should display their availability status as Up.
