After the file is downloaded, ensure to unzip it. The 7.x.x.RELEASE.PATCH file is the one you upload to the Connection Manager (in System Configuration > System Administration > Update Software). You can configure what files are required when updating the Connection Manager software in the Update Verification Options field (in System Configuration > Miscellaneous Options > WUI Settings).
