These tips will help you create more accurate rules, troubleshoot quickly, and make the most of the Assistant’s features:
- Be descriptive and specific — The more precise your statements and questions, the more accurate and useful the AI’s responses will be. Use terminology that matches your vocabulary and provide enough context for the Assistant to understand your intent.
- Always review and test output — Treat AI-generated rules and explanations as a starting point. Carefully review and test everything before using it in production to ensure it meets your business requirements.
- Experiment with different prompts — If you don’t get the response you expect, try rephrasing your question, breaking down complex requests, or providing more detail. Sometimes a slight change in wording leads to better results.
- Take advantage of copy and paste — You can easily copy responses from the Assistant into your rulesheets, documentation, or emails, saving time and reducing manual effort.
- Request alternate formats when needed — The Assistant can provide answers in plain text, HTML, or JSON. If you need the response in a specific format, simply ask.
- Each interaction is independent — The Assistant does not retain memory of previous prompts. Make sure to include all necessary details in each request to get the most accurate response.
- Use suggested prompts — If you’re unsure where to start, use the suggested prompts provided for each asset type as a guide or inspiration.
- Ask for clarification — If you don’t understand a response or need more detail, simply enter your prompt again, adding your request for clarification. For example, you can ask the Assistant to “explain further” or “show the reasoning” behind a rule or suggestion.
- Copy and use the response — The AI Assistant's response window is an HTML browser widget, offering familiar behaviors from popular web browsers. Most notably, you can select and copy text from the response to paste it elsewhere, including into your rule assets.
- Try the prompt again — AI-generated responses may vary even if the question or request remains the same. If the response doesn’t meet your expectations, try submitting the prompt again.
- Ask for HTML format — The AI Assistant requests responses in HTML format by default. If the AI doesn’t comply, try resubmitting the prompt or include instructions like "Display as HTML" in your request.
- Request different response formats — The AI can produce responses in various formats. For example, including instructions such as "Output as JSON" can generate a response in a format that better suits your needs.
- Ask why —If you don’t understand a particular AI-generated response, you can ask the AI for an explanation. Including directions like "Explain why" or "Explain your reasoning" often provides deeper insights into your rule assets.
- Ask Questions — Enables the AI Assistant to analyze and explain the logic, structure, or behavior of the asset.
- Create Content — Enables the AI Assistant to generate new elements for the asset, such as rules in a rulesheet or test cases in a ruletest.
