Corticon installers can be used to perform a new install or update an existing installation.
  • When performing a new installation the installer will prompt for information about the installation.
  • When updating an installation, such as when applying a service pack, the installer will perform the update without asking for this information.
If you have an existing, populated 7.1.3 Web Console, you need not download a new 7.1.3 installer. While the default path would be C:\Progress\Corticon 7.1\WebConsole, the app server startup, and the logon would be unchanged.
Note: If you choose to retain the configuration and install a new Web Console 7.1.3, you must log on to the Web Console, and then perform the Administration task Export Configuration, and then save the configuration file.
Note: Installing a new Web Console will clear the existing configurations. In the new Web Console installation, you should then immediately import the saved configurations to install them. You could retain the file as a backup, noting that applying it will overwrite the existing configuration.

If the same or later version of the Corticon Web Console 7.1.3 component is already installed at any location on the target machine, an alert is posted that denies permission to continue.
