Note: PGP Keys is a licensed feature, and depends on the installed MOVEit Automation edition. The license determines the features that you can access.

PGP encryption is a form of public key file encryption that can be used to encrypt files and/or emails for transfer over public networks. In addition to encrypting files, PGP compresses files to save space if possible and can provide digital signing capability.

MOVEit Automation stores PGP keys in files called keyrings, which contain public keys, and private/public keypairs. For more information, see Public and Private Keys.

Note: Ensure that you save your PGP key password in a secure location as it cannot be retrieved from MOVEit if it is lost.

PGP Key Expiry

PGP public keys can encrypt files up to the day they expire. Once the key expires it cannot be used to encrypt data. A private key will continue to decrypt data that was encrypted by that public key, even after the public key expires.
