Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your WS_FTP Server account. With MFA enabled, you must provide both your credentials and a verification code generated by an authenticator app on your mobile device. This helps protect your account even if your password is compromised.
MFA policies are set and updated by the system administrator in WS_FTP Server Manager. For more information, see Multi-Factor Authentication.
MFA policy options
Your system administrator can configure MFA in several ways:
- Unenforced: MFA is not available.
- Optional: You may choose to enable MFA for your account.
- Enforced: MFA is required for certain users or groups.
- Exempt: Specific users may be excluded from MFA by the system administrator.
