1. Review the OpenEdge installer status
During an OpenEdge installation, OpenEdge automatically creates a log file that records the actions, decisions, validations, and errors that occur during an installation, upgrade, or uninstall of OpenEdge. Check the following file for errors installing OpenEdge.
- Windows:
Log file: oesetup.log
Location: C:\Windows
For details see Run the silent installation on Windows.
- Linux:
Log file: install.log
Location: Installer’s home directory
For more information, see Run the silent installation on Linux
2. Review ESAM installer status
The ESAM installer runs silently at the start of an OpenEdge installation. The ESAM_Install_dd_mm_yyyy_hh_mm_ss.log file, records all ESAM installation events, including files and subdirectories created in the ESAM directory. Check the following file for errors installing ESAM.
-
Windows:
Location: C:\Windows\System32\openedge.d\audit
-
UNIX:
Location: /etc/openedge.d/audit
3. Repair ESAM installation
If you encounter errors in ESAM_Install_dd_mm_yyyy_hh_mm_ss.log, complete the following steps:
- Fix the issue.
- Run the ESAM installer manually from
absolute-path-to-DLC\install:
- Windows: InstallESAM.bat
- UNIX: InstallESAM
4. Review OpenEdge root install path registration
- Check esam.log located in DLC\Install.
- Resolve the issue.
- Synchronize ESAM-managed OpenEdge installations.
