Introduction
The Semaphore Semantic Enhancement Service (SES) provides highly performant read only access to Semaphore Knowledge Model Management models. This can be used in end-user integrations requiring retrieval of model information.
Note: The term “Semantic Integration Service” (SIS) is used for a suite of products that includes SES.
Product Notes
In this version of Semaphore, the SES is based on SOLR 8.11.2.
By default, SES runs in SOLR Cloud mode. However, out of the box, SES will run as a single server within its own cluster. For a high availability solution, you can either run several such clusters on separate machines and publish to each individually (albeit in the same publication event), or you can create a multi-node SOLR cluster. This latter configuration is likely to require help from a Smartlogic Techincal Consultant.
Details of how to install Semantic Enhancement Service can be found at here (Windows) and here (Linux).
Audience
This document is intended for individuals responsible for the on-going administration of a Semaphore installation (typically system administrators).
