Upgrade Semaphore for SharePoint Online

Currently, the Progress Data Cloud App is the only element of Semaphore for SharePoint Online that can be upgraded or updated. The app changes infrequently, typically only when permissions change or infrastructure issues warrant. Tenants are notified if an upgrade or update is required.

Upgrade the Progress Data Cloud App

To upgrade the Progress Data Cloud app, obtain the updated app from Progress Data Cloud:

1. In a web browser, log into your Progress Data Cloud tenancy. Use an account with the SharePoint Online Deployment Manager role assigned.
2. After logging into the tenancy, click SharePoint Online under the Configure menu.
3. From the Subscriptions list, select the appropriate subscription.
4. From the Sites tab, click on a site collection that has been deployed to.
5. From the Site Collection page, click the download button in the top right of the page.
6. Select the Download App option.

Once this is done, the app can be deployed to your application site. Follow the instructions at Install the Progress Data Cloud App Into Your App Catalog.

Finally, update the app in each of the site collections where it has been deployed:

1. Connect and login as an administrator to the appropriate SharePoint Online site collection.
2. Go to Site Contents.
3. Click on the context menu beside the Progress Data Cloud App and select the Details option from the menu.
4. If the app has been updated, a notification appears. Click the Get It button to update the app.
