This step replaces the existing distribution with the new version while preserving your profile
configuration. Follow these steps to stop the profile, replace the distribution tooling,
and load the new Docker images:
- Set the working directory to the OpenEdge MCP Server installation
directory:
cd "$OEMCP_HOME" - Stop the profile before replacing distribution artifacts:
./mcpgen stop "$PROFILE" - Remove existing
mcpgenwheel files to avoid stale tooling conflicts:# Remove previous version wheel file rm -f wheels/mcpgen-*.whl - Extract the target OpenEdge MCP Server distribution into the installation
directory:
# Extract new distribution unzip -o /path/to/OPENEDGE_MCP_SERVER_<VERSION>_LNX64.zip -d "$OEMCP_HOME" - Load the target Docker images and validate the environment:
# Load new Docker images ./load_images.sh # Verify installation printf 'python3\n' | ./mcpgen doctor - Start the profile after the upgrade completes:
# Start the upgraded profile ./mcpgen start "$PROFILE"
Note: By default, generated profiles use
openedge-mcp-server:latest. The load_images.sh
script loads the new image under this reference, so no compose-file changes are
required for standard in-place upgrades.
