Maintaining a WS_FTP Server failover cluster

Some WS_FTP Server failover cluster configuration changes require you to perform operations on both nodes.

Updating Web Configuration for WS_FTP Server Modules

When updating the web configuration for the Web Transfer Module, Ad Hoc Transfer module, and Ad Hoc Transfer Plug-in for Outlook (for example, changing the download URL), you must update web.config on both nodes. The default path for web.config on each node is:

Ad Hoc Transfer module
  • 32-bit:

     C:\Program Files (x86)\Progress\Ad Hoc Transfer\AHT

Ad Hoc Transfer Outlook Plugin
  • 32-bit:
     C:\Program Files\Progress\Ad Hoc Transfer\XFTWebService
  • 64-bit:
     C:\Program Files (x86)\Progress\Ad Hoc Transfer\XFTWebService
Note: Make sure that you backup web.config on both nodes before making any changes.

Updating the database configuration

When you makes changes to the Microsoft SQL Server database (for example, changing the server IP or the database administrator's password), you need to update your database information by running the dbconfig.exe utility on both nodes.
