The Device Properties - Credentials property allows you to view a list of credentials, available in the Credentials Library, that you may apply to the device for monitoring purposes. For more information, see Managing Credentials.

Configure the following:

  • Manage Credentials. Click to manage credentials.
  • Options. Use the row menu option Edit Assignment to modify the selected credential type.
  • Type. Stores the available credential types that can be, or have been assigned to the selected device. The available options are:
    • SNMP v1/v2/v3. Select the SNMP credentials to ensure SNMP-based active monitors work properly with .
    • Windows. Select the Windows credential to ensure NT Service Checks work properly with .
    • ADO. Select the ADO credentials for database connection string information to be used when a database connection is required for database monitors.
    • Telnet. Select Telnet credentials if you use to connect and run command-line interface (CLI) commands with tasks.
    • SSH. Select SSH credentials to connect with remote devices that monitors with SSH monitors. Also, if you use WhatsConfigured, SSH credentials may be used to connect and run command-line interface (CLI) commands with WhatsConfigured tasks. WhatsConfigured uses SSH as default credentials, then will attempt to use Telnet credentials when SSH credentials are not available.
    • VMware. Select the VMware credentials to connect to a VMware host or vCenter server.
    • AXL. Select the AXL credentials to permit communication with VoIP devices. AXL provides the ability to enable data collection by VoIP monitors.
  • Assigned Credentials. Displays the name of the credential type that has been applied to the selected device.
  • Description. Displays a short description for the credential type.
  • Save. Click to store all changes to the selected device.
