Specific data, such as PDF reports or flow database backups, can be stored on remote third-party storage. This storage can be connected using the Samba (CIFS) protocol. Select a supported protocol from the Protocol drop-down menu and in the Host field enter a hostname or IP address. Enter the appropriate values in the Port, Root directory, Domain, Username, and Password fields, and then click Save to confirm the settings. The Save button saves the configuration and checks the connection to the storage (no write permissions test is performed). Once the connection is verified, click Test write permission to validate the configuration. This button displays a form where you can specify a local directory in the Root directory field to test for write permissions. If you leave a default value "/", then the Root directory itself will be tested. If the connection and write permissions are configured correctly, the message "Connection is OK" is displayed. This test can take a few minutes to complete.
