This section reviews some of the common administration tasks needed for Semaphore for SharePoint Online.

SharePoint Online user access to Semaphore information

If you have configured an Organizational Account, any users in the organization using the same Entra directory can access Semaphore configuration information. When a user first attempts to access this information, the user will need to click on Login and click Log in with Active Directory. After clicking the button, an account is created in Semaphore for SharePoint Online. The account has read-only access to the configuration information.

Remove Semaphore support from a Site Collection

To remove Semaphore support for a specific site collection:

  1. In a web browser, log into your Progress Data Cloud tenancy.
  2. From the configuration menu, click SharePoint Online.
  3. From the Subscriptions list at the top of the page, select the appropriate subscription.
  4. From the Sites tab, click on the relevant site collection.
  5. Under Deployment Details, ensure that custom scripts are enabled.
    1. If Blocked appears, click on the Enable link.
    2. After clicking the link, a SharePoint Online screen appears where custom scripts can be enabled. It will take a few seconds before the Progress Data Cloud page displays the updated status.
  6. On the right side of the Deployment Details section of the page, click Retract. The Retract function will only be available if the interface has previously been deployed, and if Blocked does not appear next to Custom scripts.

Note:

To completely remove all configuration from Progress Data Cloud, click Delete after clicking the Retract option described above.

Debug deployment problems

To assist with debugging, full logs are available from the SharePoint Online section of Progress Data Cloud.

To access the logs:

  1. From the SharePoint Online page, select the relevant SharePoint subscription from the Subscriptions list.
  2. On the Sites tab, click the site collection.
  3. The Site Details Configuration screen appears. The Details tab displays the current status of the deployment and any errors.

Debug SharePoint Online connection errors

To debug SharePoint Online connection errors:

  1. Click the Show Connection Errors button.
  2. A window appears containing any connection errors.
