OpenEdge 12.2 supports Java 11, a long-term support release of Java. The benefit to you is the ability to receive security updates and extensions to functionality. When Java updates become available, you decide whether or not to update your OpenEdge installation. This means that your OpenEdge applications and third-party JAR files have the following Java support commitments:
  • Standard support until September 2023
  • Extended support until September 2026
  • Sustaining support indefinitely
