Establish a connection to a local or remote managed database resource

If the database is a resource already being managed by OpenEdge Management, you can start the database through the management console by doing the following:

  1. Log in to OpenEdge Management.
  2. Click Resources > Go to Resources in the management console menu.
    All resources managed by your console appear in the grid frame of Resourcespage.
  3. Filter or search for, and select the database you want to start.
  4. You can start the database by doing either of the following:
    • Click Start brokers in the Resources page.
    • Click Start in the Resource Summary section of the Resources page.
    • Select the database to access the database details page and click Start Database.

    Once the database is running, you can select it as a database connection.

For a local or remote managed database in the database connections list, you can also:

  • View details about a database connection on the database home page. For more information, see About Managing Multi-tenant Databases.
  • Copy a database connection. When you copy a connection, you are not copying the actual database resource; you are copying only the connection details. The connection copy does not represent a database resource being managed by OpenEdge Management.
  • Delete a database connection.
