To launch the OpenEdge Java Message Service (JMS) Adapter, you must have administrator privileges on the machine where you are installing the OpenEdge JMS Adapter. For information about planning your installation, see Before you Install in Install OpenEdge.
- Close all applications.
Running applications or tasks may interfere with the installation because they could use files that OpenEdge needs to complete the installation. Stop any processes that are running, and close any files that are located in the same directory where you want to install the OpenEdge JMS Adapter.
- Double-click the
setup.exefile. - Read the information in the Welcome dialog box, verify that all the other applications are closed, and click Next.
- In the Serial Number and Control Codes dialog box, enter the serial number and control number for the OpenEdge JMS Adapter and click Accept. Select OpenEdge JMS Adapter from the Product(s) to be installed box and click Next.
- In the Java Home Location dialog
box, click Browse and find the
location of the JDK installation for the Java Home Directory. Click
Next.Note: Ensure that you have the correct JDK version installed. Otherwise, an error message is displayed, and you cannot proceed with the installation. For information about JDK requirements on each supported platform, see the OpenEdge 12 Platform Compatibility Guide.
- Specify the paths for the OpenEdge JMS Adapter destination and working
directories in the Choose Destination And
Working Path Directories dialog box. Click Next.
The working directory contains your OpenEdge database and application files, and is the directory where OpenEdge runs. The working directory cannot be same as the destination directory.
- In the Setup Type
dialog box, choose the type of installation you want to perform
and click Next.
Note: For custom installations, Progress recommends that you install all recommended products. If you do not install all the recommended products, then the products you chose to install may not function as expected. - In the Select Program Folder
dialog box, specify the Windows program folder where the
OpenEdge JMS Adapter program icons will appear. Click Next.
- In the Language Choice dialog box,
select English-American as a default language for the
OpenEdge JMS Adapter error and informational messages and then Click
Next.
Note: You can select only English-American as a default language during the installation. The Supplemental Language Set provides an additional list of languages in which messages can be displayed. If you select a supplemental language and choose Available via Download, an informational message appears, which indicates that you can obtain these supplemental languages from the Progress Download Center to install after you complete the installation. - In the International Settings
dialog box, choose the settings for your character set, date,
and number format in OpenEdge software. Click Next.
- In the AdminServer
Authorization Options dialog box, set up user and group
authorization of the AdminServer for the OpenEdge JMS Adapter. You can
choose one option, both options, or no options. After you make a choice,
click Next. The User Authorization and Group Authorization options are established independently of each other.
- For User Authorization, select Require a Username and Password. This option requires each user to provide a valid user name and password in order to start the AdminServer. User names and passwords are set up at the operating system level. For information about setting up users, see your operating system documentation.
- For Group Authorization, select, Enable Group Checking. This option enables a specified group of users to be able to start the AdminServer.
- In the Summary
dialog box, review the installation options that you chose. Click Back to return to the previous dialog box
to make any changes. If you are satisfied with your choices, then click
Next.
- When the installation is complete, the Complete Setup Done dialog box is displayed. Click Finish to exit the installation process.
