To read, modify, compile, and execute unencrypted source, the user must have a full development OpenEdge product (that is, the ABL Development System, OpenEdge Studio, or Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge). The Query/Results Client product is not a full development product because it can compile only read-only application files (source files that contain no code that modifies the database). Also, products that contain client execution engines—for example, the Database Server or Client Networking products—cannot compile unencrypted source.
