Note:

  • For users not already assigned ec2-protected-access, assign cloud-protected-access instead.
  • For users already assigned ec2-protected-access, assigning cloud-protected-access instead is unnecessary because ec2-protected-access now works the same way as cloud-protected-access.

The ec2-protected-access role is for administrators and service accounts that require legitimate access to Amazon EC2 Instance Metadata Service (IMDS) or Azure IMDS. This role has the ec2-http-protected privilege.

There are no default permissions associated with this role.
