You should configure the staging environment identically to the production environment, then install OpenEdge.
Developers working with PAS for OpenEdge development licenses can provide whole zipped instances or individual applications and services, which system administrators can then deploy to the staging environment.
System administrators should then apply production configurations as if it the instance was running a live user environment. At this stage, the system administrator can do regression testing, functional testing, performance testing, and tuning. The testing ensures that when the instance goes to live production, the system administrator has a better understanding of the runtime performance and configuration.
