Note: The Configuration Manger is currently supported only on Windows platforms.

The Configuration Manager is included with certain DataDirect drivers to allow for quick configuration and testing of your driver in a browser. Should you encounter an issue using the Configuration Manager, you can generate a trace log to help diagnose the issue or to share with Technical Support. Tracing for the Configuration Manger is enabled by specifying the name and location of the trace file you want to generate using the DDTEK.portalTraceFile system environment variable.

To enable tracing for the Configuration Manager Portal:

  1. In the Control Panel, select System. The Settings window opens.
  2. In the Related Settings section, select Advanced system settings.
  3. In the System Properties window, click Environment Variables.
  4. In the System variables pane, click New....
  5. In the New System Variable window, provide the values for the following fields:
    • Variable Name: DDTEK.portalTraceFile
    • Variable Value: Specify a name for the trace file and the location to which you want it generated. For example, C:\Temp\portalTracing.txt.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Open the Configuration Manager and reproduce the steps that caused the issue you encountered.

The trace file in your specified location will record the activity of the tool. For assistance interpreting the file or additional help, contact Technical Support: https://www.progress.com/support.
