To sign in using multi-factor authentication (MFA) you must provide a second factor of identification to verify that your sign in is genuine.
WS_FTP Server Web Transfer Client and Ad Hoc Transfer ask for MFA
when:
- You opt to enable MFA during the log on process or the SETUP MFA on the user interface tab.
- Access control policies require MFA.
Prerequisites
- WS_FTP Server is installed and configured.
- WS_FTP Server Manager is accessible.
- Users must install an Authenticator App, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, on their mobile device.

- Scan the displayed QR code using your preferred authenticator app.
- Enter the verification code generated by the app in the Verification Code field.
- Click Verify to complete the setup.
Use a Text Key (if you cannot scan the QR code)
If you cannot scan the QR code with your authenticator app, you can use the text key provided on the Setup Multi-Factor Authentication page.
- On the MFA setup page, click Show key displayed above the QR code.
- Open your authenticator app and select the option to Enter a code manually.
- Enter the text key exactly as shown in your authenticator app.
- Complete the setup by entering the verification code generated by the authenticator app in the Verification Code field.
