The following table lists the release notes in OpenEdge MCP Server 1.1.

Issue Number Description
OCTA-89755

Summary

In OpenEdge MCP Server on Windows, running mcpgen.bat with the --args parameter containing JSON enclosed in double quotes fails. This affects tool invocations such as CRUD operations (for example, creating or deleting records) and tool invocation examples used during Windows upgrade verification procedures.

Symptoms / Error

When executing mcpgen.bat with --args containing double quotes, the command fails with an invalid JSON error:

❌ Error: Invalid JSON for --args: Expecting value: line 1 column 1 (char 0){noformat}

Cause

When arguments are forwarded from mcpgen.bat to mcpgen.ps1, double quotes are stripped during the batch script execution, causing the underlying command to receive malformed JSON.

Workaround

On systems where PowerShell script execution is permitted, run .\mcpgen.ps1 directly instead of .\mcpgen.bat. Invoking PowerShell directly preserves the quoting and allows the arguments to be parsed correctly.
