Setting folder listings to use local time
By default, the server displays directory listings in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). You can set the directory listings on the host to use the server's local time.
To use local time for file and folder listings:
- From the menu, select Server > Hosts. The Hosts page opens.
- Select a host from the list by clicking on the hyperlinked host name. The Host Details page opens.
- Select Use local time.
- Click Save.
Note: When using FTP/FTPS Clients connecting to a MLSD supported host such as WS_FTP Server, the client assumes that the server is reporting the time in GMT and processes it accordingly. This may cause the time on the server to appear differently. The MLSD command automatically offsets the timestamps returned by a server to correct for GMT time. When you set the server to Use local time, the MLSD command still adjusts the timestamp by the number of hours the machine time is offset from GMT.On WS_FTP Pro to get the actual time on the server and remove the GMT processing, change the Host Type to Unix (Standard). This will disable the MLSD command, and the LIST command will be used to retrieve directory listings. You can change the host type in WS_FTP Pro by selecting the site, click Edit Site > Advanced > Host Type = Unix (Standard). For other clients, contact your vendor.
