Introduction
Notifications provide a consistent, reliable, and timely way to inform users and systems of relevant information when important events or incidents occur. They ensure that information is delivered to the appropriate audience through configured communication channels (e.g., Email) at the right time.
The Notifications Management documentation is categorized into multiple standalone sections, each written for a specific audience or purpose. This separation keeps each document focused, easier to navigate, and relevant to its intended readers.
Intended Audience
Different people interact with Notification Management in different ways. To reflect this, this documentation set is organized around the following primary personas:
End Users
End users receive notifications and control their personal notification preferences. They are primarily concerned with:
- Which notifications they receive.
- How notifications are delivered.
- When notifications are sent.
Administrators
Administrators configure and maintain notification functionality. They are responsible for:
- Making notification delivery possible, as well as timely and reliable.
- Configuring providers and provider types.
- Defining which notifications, or topics, users can subscribe.
- Managing system-level notification configuration.
Documentation Set
The Notification Management documentation consists of the following separate sections:
- Introduction. This content presents a high-level overview of notification management and the corresponding documentation structure.
- Key Concepts. Defines core notification concepts used consistently across the documentation set.
- End User Guide. Contains instructions for subscribing to notifications, configuring delivery channels, and managing preferences.
- Administrator Guide. Contains guidance on provider configuration, topic management, and operational responsibilities.
- Frequently Asked Questions. Contains common questions and clarifications that apply across roles.
Each section is designed to stand on its own and can be read independently.
How to Proceed
- If you are new to notifications, begin with Key Concepts.
- If you receive notifications, continue to the End User Guide.
- If you configure or manage notifications, refer to the Administrator Guide.
This structure ensures that each reader can focus only on the information relevant to their role, without unnecessary technical or operational detail.
