Installing the Fact Extraction Framework

Prerequisites

Prior to installing the Fact Extraction Framework, Semaphore Studio (which includes Knowledge Model Management) must be installed and operational. Administrative access to the installation server is required. The distribution consists of the file: Semaphore-FactsExtraction-<Version>.jar.

Installing

Before installing the FACTS Framework you will need to login to Knowledge Model Management (via Studio) with a user account assigned the “SemaphoreSuperAdministrators” role. Once logged in select the “Manage Plugins” option from the “tools” (wrench) menu near the top right of the screen.

On the screen displayed, click on the “Upload a plugin” button then dragging/uploading the distribution file “com.smartlogic.workbench.facts-<version>.jar”.

Press the “Submit” button and after a short time the plugin will be installed.

Validating the Installation

Once the software has been installed it can be validated by ensuring three new models have been created in the workspace: FactExtraction-Entities, FactExtraction and FactExtraction-Test
