OpenEdge Management allows you to store trend data, which is the monitoring information OpenEdge Management maintains, in a local OpenEdge Management Trend Database. These storage options appear in the Trend database location section.

To specify the location of the OpenEdge Management Trend Database:

  1. In the OpenEdge Management Configuration page, go to the Trend database location section.
  2. In the Trend database location field, specify the location for the trend database.
    You can either use the predefined explicit path where the trend database is located by default, or type a different path to the database. For example, C:\Progress\oemgmt\work\fathomdb\fathom.db. Note that the inclusion of the .db extension in the path name is optional.
    OpenEdge Management provides a backup of the default trend database fathom.bak in the $OEMgmt\db directory. If you specify a location other than the default trend database location, OpenEdge Management extracts that backup and places it in the location you specified.

    If you already have a trend database placed in the specified location, OpenEdge Management uses that trend database.

    Alternatively, you can either copy the OpenEdge Management trend database fathom.db to the specified location using the procopy or prodb command, or restore the trend database backup fathom.bak to the specified location using the prorest command.
  3. In the Trend database port field, type the port number.
Note: If the local AdminServer is offline, the Trend database location and Trend database port fields are disabled.
You can also specify the location of the Trend Database later by selecting Options > Trend Database once the local AdminServer is online.
