You can control the visibility and restrict operations on the AdminServer sub-processes by using the –requireusername property. If you enable this property, only users authenticated using the ubroker.properties file can access the sub-processes of the AdminServer.
Note: You can enable the –requireusername property by selecting the Require a Username and Password checkbox during OpenEdge installation or by editing the ubroker.properties file to add username and password to the sub-process.
If you configure the –admingroup property and start the AdminServer with –requireusername property, the users must also belong to an authorized group to start the AdminServer. For example, if Group1 and Group2 are specified in the AdminServer Authorization options, any user who belongs to either group can start the AdminServer. You can also specify these groups from the command line as follows:
Proenv>proadsv –start –admingroup Group1, Group2 –requireusername
