You can update OpenEdge JMS Adapter in one of the following ways, depending on your installation type:
  • Standalone installation—Update manually using the Incremental Update.
  • Added as a product to OpenEdge—Update OpenEdge to update the JMS Adapter automatically. For information on updating OpenEdge, see Update OpenEdge.

This topic explains how to update the OpenEdge JMS Adapter when it is installed using the standalone installer.

Update an existing OpenEdge JMS Adapter installation from a Long-Term Support (LTS) release, an Innovation release, or a prior Incremental Update to a newer Incremental Update within the same LTS or Innovation release stream. For example, if you have installed the 12.2.18 version of the OpenEdge JMS Adapter on your system, you can update it to the 12.2.19 or later Incremental Update within the 12.2 LTS.

Each new Incremental Update includes only cumulative changes, that is, changes introduced in the earlier Incremental Updates are included in the current Incremental Update. These changes may include bug fixes and security patches.

Prerequisites

  • Download the required OpenEdge JMS Adapter software image from the Progress Download Center, also known as Electronic Software Distribution (ESD).
  • Close all the OpenEdge applications or processes because they can interfere with the installation or use files that the installer needs to complete the update.
