The Progress Application Server (PAS) for OpenEdge is a high performance web application server based on Apache Tomcat. It is tailored specifically to support OpenEdge applications.

PAS for OpenEdge is available as two separate products:

  • The Progress Development Application Server for OpenEdge — Included in Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge license to allow you deploy, test, and debug business logic on the server.
  • The Progress Production Application Server for OpenEdge — Designed for production staging test environments and full production systems. System administrators and DevOps engineers have the ability to deploy, monitor and manage applications using OpenEdge Management, command line utilities and/or APIs.
