OpenEdge® provides the OpenEdge Adapter for Sonic Enterprise Service Bus (ESB®) to allow OpenEdge ABL procedures to be incorporated into ESB processes on the Sonic Enterprise Service Bus. ABL procedures are accessed through Sonic ESB using the Native Invocation methodology.

This topic describes the architecture and where to find further information about using these adapter products.

Note: The Progress SonicMQ and Sonic ESB products were acquired by Aurea Software and became part of the Aurea CX Platform, which was subsequently renamed to Aurea Integration Solutions. In line with this, Sonic ESB became Aurea CX Messenger ESB, and then was renamed to Aurea Messenger. For information about the supported Aurea Messenger versions and associated JDK requirements, see the OpenEdge 12 Platform Compatibility Guide.

You can install the OpenEdge Adapter for Sonic ESB using a standalone installer or add it to the existing OpenEdge installation.
