This section highlights what you need to consider prior to running the MOVEit Transfer Install Utility.
Consult the Release Notes for software and hardware requirements
Before you install MOVEit Transfer, ensure that the system meets the current hardware and software requirements. For more information, review the current Release Notes.
Remove existing non-MOVEit MySQL DB before you install
The express MOVEit Transfer installation program installs the MySQL database. To avoid dependency, version, and maintenance and debugging issues, do not install MOVEit Transfer on a machine with an existing MySQL database running.
Run MS SQL DB on a distinct server machine (if running MS SQL)
It is best practice to run MS SQL Server and MOVEit Transfer on different server machines. Running MOVEit Transfer and MS SQL Server on different server machines is best for purposes of performance, scaling, and future maintenance and upgrades.
Your user needs unrestricted permissions to run the installer
MOVEit Transfer requires an unrestricted local administrator service account to install and set up MOVEit Transfer. MOVEit Transfer needs administrator permissions to install successfully.
