To create a *.pfx or *.p12 certificate file, complete the following steps:

  1. Run Internet Information Server (IIS) Manager on the MOVEit Transfer machine.
  2. In the left pane, navigate to Sites, and then the name of your MOVEit Transfer website. In most cases, the name is moveitdmz.
  3. In the right pane, click Bindings...
  4. In the Site Bindings dialog box, click https, followed by Edit.
  5. In the Edit Site Binding dialog box, select the SSL Certificate from the list and click View...
  6. In the Certificate dialog box, select the Details tab, and click Copy to File...
  7. In the Certificate Export Wizard, click Next.
  8. In the Export Private Key window, click Yes, export the private key, followed by Next.
  9. In the Export File Format window, select the format Personal Information Exchange - PKCS #12 (.PFX) and click Next.
  10. In the Security window, select the Password check box, enter a password, and click Next.
  11. In the File to Export window, click Browse...
  12. In the Save As dialog box, select a directory and enter a filename to which the certificate should be saved, such as moveittransfer.pfx, and click Save.
  13. In the File to Export window, click Next.
  14. In the Completing the Certificate Export Wizard window, click Finish.
  15. In the Certificate Export Wizard popup, click OK.
  16. To close the Certificate dialog box, click OK.
  17. To close the Edit Site Binding dialog box, click Cancel.
  18. To close the Site Bindings dialog, click Close.
  19. Upload the file to MOVEit Transfer, and then download the file on the MOVEit Gateway machine.
