Fixed Bugs
See Issues fixed in MarkLogic Server 11.3.4 for the full list of issues fixed in 11.3.4.
MarkLogic 11.3.3
Released: Nov 19, 2025
MarkLogic 11.3.3 is a patch update of the MarkLogic 11.3 LTS release. It contains a single bug fix for an issue that prevented bootstrap communication for coupled clusters from working. This issue prevented the communication required for database replication from being established.
Note:
To ensure that the database replication issue is not encountered in the future, the binaries for MarkLogic 11.3.2 are no longer available for download.
See Issues fixed in MarkLogic Server 11.3.3 for the full list of issues fixed in 11.3.3.
MarkLogic 11.3.2
Released: Oct 7, 2025
MarkLogic 11.3.2 is a patch update of the MarkLogic 11.3 LTS release. It contains bug fixes and patches for security vulnerabilities. In addition, MarkLogic 11.3.2 includes support for new AWS instance types and upgrades the version of Python used by the MarkLogic CloudFormation template.
Additional AWS instance types now supported
MarkLogic 11.3.2 adds support for these AWS instance types: m7i, m7i-flex, m7a, c7i, c7i-flex, c7a, r7i, r7iz, r7a, r8i, r8i-flex, i7ie.
MarkLogic CloudFormation template Python version updated
The Python version used by the AWS Lambda functions in the MarkLogic CloudFormation template has been updated from 3.9 to 3.13. Python 3.9 will be deprecated as of Dec 15, 2025. To update their Python versions, existing clusters created with MarkLogic CFT versions prior to MarkLogic 11.3.2 must have their Lambda functions patched or must be redeployed.
For more information on directly patching the Lambda functions, see "Customers Who Prefer to Patch Their Existing MarkLogic CloudFormation Templates for New Cluster Deployments" in the KB article Mitigating Certifi and urllib3 Vulnerabilities.
For more details about running MarkLogic Server on AWS, see MarkLogic on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Multi-QName element word queries now work as expected
In versions prior to MarkLogic 11.3.2, element word queries that specified multiple element QNames as the first argument incorrectly used only the last QName in the array or sequence of QNames. After an 11.3.2 upgrade, these queries will behave correctly, using all specified QNames. This corrected behavior may cause the queries to match more content than they did in previous versions. For more details, see MLE-19338 in Issues fixed in MarkLogic Server 11.3.2.
The default select projection in Optic now behaves correctly
In versions prior to MarkLogic 11.3.2, Optic API queries that either used the "natural join" capability and ran as Optic DSL or used op:prepare() may have returned the wrong number of results due to an incorrect projection of available columns. After an 11.3.2 upgrade, queries like these may return different results than they did previously. For more details, see MLE-17860 in Issues fixed in MarkLogic Server 11.3.2.
Fixed Bugs
See Issues fixed in MarkLogic Server 11.3.2 for the full list of issues fixed in 11.3.2.
MarkLogic 11.3.1 on Amazon Linux 2023
Released: Dec 19, 2024
The MarkLogic 11.3.1 release is now supported on Amazon Linux 2023. See Amazon Linux 2023 Support for more details.
MarkLogic 11.3.1-1 (RHEL 9 RPM only)
To address an issue installing MarkLogic 11.3.1 on RHEL 9 with FIPS enabled, the RPMs for MarkLogic Server and the converters have been rebuilt. The new RPM versions are identified by the “-1” in the filenames (for example, MarkLogic-11.3.1-1.rhel9.x86_64.rpm). There is no change to the MarkLogic Server software included in the RPMs, so the version of MarkLogic Server that installs is still 11.3.1.
MarkLogic 11.3.1
Released: Nov 5, 2024
MarkLogic 11.3.1 is a patch update of the MarkLogic 11.3 LTS release. It contains bug fixes and patches for security vulnerabilities. Additionally, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (and compatible distributions) and Windows Server 2022 are now supported. See the Product Support Matrix for all supported platforms.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 Support
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (and compatible distributions) is now supported. A new RPM specifically for RHEL9 is available for download on the downloads site. See Red Hat Enterprise 9 Support for more details about using the RHEL 9 RPM.
Windows Server 2022 Support
Windows Server 2022 is now supported. There are no functional changes to the installation packages or procedures for Windows Server 2022. The MarkLogic Server x64 Windows installer available on the downloads site works for all supported versions of Windows.
64-bit Document Converter/Filter Libraries
MarkLogic 11.3.1 now ships with 64-bit document conversion and filtering libraries. In previous versions, MarkLogic Server contained 32-bit libraries but compatibility with RHEL 9 requires all libraries to be 64-bit. There is no effect on functionality or behavior due to this change.
JVM Disabled by Default
The use of a JVM (Java Virtual Machine) by MarkLogic Server is now disabled by default. In earlier versions, the JVM was used to support the storage of forest data on HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System). However, MarkLogic 11.0.0 removed this capability; therefore, the use of a JVM is now disabled by default. To utilize the JVM in a particular deployment, set MARKLOGIC_DISABLE_JVM=0 in the /etc/marklogic.conf file.
Charts Replaced with KendoUI
The charting package in the Monitoring Dashboard and History web applications has been replaced with KendoUI. This update improves 508 compliance and enhances the overall usability of the MarkLogic Server built-in applications. It also positions the MarkLogic 11.3 Long Term Support (LTS) line for better maintainability throughout its LTS lifecycle. The functionality of the charts has not changed but there are minor differences in the user interface.
Fixed Bugs
See Issues fixed in MarkLogic Server 11.3.1 for the full list of issues fixes in 11.3.1.
MarkLogic 11.3.0
Released: Jun 25, 2024
MarkLogic 11.3.0 is the first Long Term Support (LTS) release of MarkLogic Server. Aligning with the Progress Lifecycle Policy for LTS, 11.3.0 does not have any major new features. The release focuses on stability and performance improvements as well as fixes for a number of bugs and security vulnerabilities. See New Features in MarkLogic 11.3 for more details.
Caution:
Upgrading to 11.3 in a cluster that is still configured to use the “legacy” language baseline will require a reindex prior to upgrading. The upgrade to 11.3 will fail to complete as MarkLogic 11.3 will not allow the upgrade to be committed if the “legacy” language baseline is in use. See the “Removal of “legacy” Stemming and Tokenization Libraries” section in New Features in MarkLogic 11.3 for more details.
Fixed Bugs
See Issues fixed in MarkLogic Server 11.3.0 for the full list of issues fixed in 11.3.0.
MarkLogic 11.2.0

Released: Oct 9, 2023
MarkLogic 11.1.0 is a minor release that adds a number of new features and addresses a number of bugs and security vulnerabilities highlighted here:
-
Automatic cache sizing will now allocate caches using the recommended ratios for hosts with up to 512 GB of RAM. Additional testing and tuning will be required to increase automatic calculation for hosts with more that 512 GB of RAM in later releases.
-
Starting in MarkLogic 11.0.0, the Optic/SPARQL query plan viewer in Query Console shows the memory component of each step in the plan as "NaN". This is fixed in 11.1.0.
-
Fixed an issue where
xdmp:logfile-scan()might only return part of the lines for log entries that have many lines. -
Fixed an issue in the Admin Interface that causes replica databases when database encryption is enabled to report that the encrypted size is zero.
-
Fixed an issue in the Admin Interface that prevented the modules database from being set for the triggers in a database.
-
Fixed an issue in Query Console where Select all via [ctrl]+[A] was working incorrectly when selecting in the query buffer or results panel.
-
Fixed an issue in Query Console that prevented copying and pasting the documentation from the autocomplete pop-up.
-
Added support for backups to S3 buckets with object lock and compliance retention activated.
-
Added support for a new "extension" option to
xdmp:document-filter()andxdmp.documentFilter()that fixes an issue where the file type may not be detected correctly because the function does not know the file extension which otherwise comes from the document URI. -
Fixed multiple issues with the segment assignment policy:
-
Fixed the issue that causes potential data loss when using segment policy and retired forests.
-
Fixed the issue that causes potential data loss when rebalancing with the segment policy.
-
Fixed the issue that causes an increase of deadlocks during rebalancing.
-
-
Improved error messages for XDMP-LEXVAL errors.
-
Improved error handling when too many values are passed into calls to
cts:triple-range-query(). -
Fixed performance regression starting from 10.0-9 where an optimization for certain
cts:triples()patterns that were added caused other triple range queries withcts:triples()queries to be slower. -
The metrics for "external" join and sort are now available via the REST API
/manage/v2/metersGET endpoint. -
Added missing support for the
cts.documentFormatQuery(),cts.documentRootQuery(), andcts.documentPermissionQuery()query constructors to Optic DSL. -
Upgraded the libraries in XCC and mlcp to address multiple security vulnerabilities
note:
Due to the Java version requirements of the updgraded 3rd party libraries, mlcp now requires JRE 11 or later.
-
There is a known issue with mlcp loading compressed RDF files from zip archives where the individual RDF file is over 2 GB. This will be fixed in the next release.

-
Fixed an issue where segfaults can happen when performing rolling upgrades to 11.0.0 on multiple clusters that have been coupled for database replication
-
Element Level Security fix
- If multiple protected paths are protecting the same elements with different attribute values, some protected elements fail to be protected while some other protected elements fail to show up to users who should have access
-
Geospatial triples of type LINESTRING or POLYGON are now deduplicated correctly in SPARQL results
-
Performance improvement of region relate queries such as 'CONTAINS', 'WITHIN', 'CROSSES', 'OVERLAPS', 'EQUALS', 'DISJOINT', 'INTERSECTS', 'TOUCHES', 'COVERS', and 'COVERED BY' that are run while updates are occurring
