To access these settings: In the left panel, click SETTINGS. On the Settings page, locate the Appearance section, Info row and click an item.

Description

Announcement

Message that appears to all users on their home page. Typically used to notify of upcoming outages, post notices, and more.

To add or edit a message, type in the box and then click Change Announcement.

This field supports intra-string language tags.

Note: Do not use this field for welcome messages to new users.

Welcome Message

Message that displays initially when user signs on:

  • In the MOVEit Transfer WebUI, this displays in a banner at the top of the page.
  • From the FTP interface, this displays as a console message.

Default message:

Welcome to [ORGNAME]! Please watch this area for important messages.

—Where [ORGNAME] is replaced by the name of the current organization. This field supports intra-string language tags.

If message field is blank, no message is displayed.

To edit a message: Type in the field and click Change Message.

Tech Support

Contains the information that appears when users click the HELP link to open the Tech Support page. All fields support intra-string language tags. Fill in the fields and then click Change Tech Support Info.

  • Default Name is Technical Support. If other fields are left blank, no information appears in their places.
  • Information link appears at the bottom of the information section of the Tech Support page.
  • Contact link appears at the bottom of the Contact section of the Tech Support page.
Note: Use the MOVEit Transfer WebPost feature to securely collect new account requests, password change requests and other support requests from your own custom web page.

Sign-On Banner and Notice

The Sign-On Banner and Notice appear on the sign-on page of the Web Interface and before the user signs in, or when a user connects to the FTP interface.

  • Both the Banner and Notice fields support intra-string language tags.
  • Banner text is restricted to 30 characters. If you exceed this limit, the banner on mobile devices uses the text Security Notice.
  • Fields for entering the banner and notice are blank by default. If you leave them blank, the following default text is used on the sign-on page:

Default Security Notice:

"You are about to access a secured resource. [ORGNAME] reserves the right to monitor and/or limit access to this resource at any time."

The security notice Acknowledgment (check box and security notice text) displays when users sign on to MOVEit Transfer through the Web Interface. Use the default notice, or add language that describes your policy and the responsibility of the users accessing resources by way of MOVEit Transfer.

Click the Require Acceptance of the Security Notice checkbox to ensure that users provide an active response to the Security Notice terms before completing the sign on to MOVEit Transfer WebUI.

Default Acknowledgment:

I have read and agree to the terms of the Security Notice.

Mobile Interface Visibility Requirement: Specifies when to display the notice on mobile devices when users access the MOVEit Mobile app or web. Options:

  • Not required - Banner and Notice never appear.
  • Required When New - Appears only when the user launches the app and the banner or notice have changed since the last launch.
  • Always Required - Appears every time a user accesses the mobile Sign On page.

Cookie Consent Banner

As org admin, you can enable and configure a cookies consent banner to display at user sign-on (SETTINGS > Appearance - Cookies Consent Banner). Cookies are used to store WebUI session information that can help the customer experience and help application performance.

Note: MOVEit Transfer will set additional cookies when you enable either Product Telemetry or In-App Notifications.

How MOVEit Transfer Uses Cookies

When in-app notifications and/or telemetry are enabled, MOVEit Transfer collects limited, anonymized metadata to support product functionality and improvements. These are typically stored in local storage, but may be stored as cookies when browser configuration does not allow use of local storage.

Examples include:

  • Product version (MOVEit Transfer version)
  • User type (e.g., Admin, Org Admin, end user)
  • Deployment type (on-premises or MOVEit Cloud)
  • Cloud instance (for cloud deployments)
  • Language settings
  • Anonymous system, account, and user identifiers
