The Hybrid Data Pipeline On-Premises Connector (OPC) can be used to access on-premises data stores behind separate firewalls on different networks without having to set up a VPN or other gateway.

To provide access to on-premises data stores, the OPC must be installed on a Windows machine behind the firewall where the on-premises data stores are located. When data stores exist at multiple on-premises locations, multiple OPCs can be installed and configured to enable access to data stores at each on-premises location.

During installation of the OPC, a Hybrid Data Pipeline user ID and password must be provided. The Hybrid Data Pipeline OPC uses these credentials to register the OPC with Hybrid Data Pipeline.

A valid Hybrid Data Pipeline account must be used to access data stores with the OPC. Data stores exposed by the OPC are accessed, like any other type of Hybrid Data Pipeline data store, by creating a Hybrid Data Pipeline data source.

Important: FIPS is not supported for the On-Premises Connector.
