The SHOW command helps you to view the AUS service configuration parameters and modify it as needed. Viewing the configuration parameters also helps you to understand and plan for activities that are dependent on or may be impacted by the AUS Maintenance Window.

The SHOW command comprises the following flavors:

  • SHOW AUTOUPDATE STATISTICS MAINTENANCE WINDOW: Choose this command to view all parameters related to the Maintenance window. The parameters displayed are AUS Status / AUS Log, Periodicity, Interval, Start Date, Duration, and Start time.
  • SHOW AUTOUPDATE STATISTICS ALL: Choose this command to view all parameters for the AUS service. The parameters displayed are AUS Status / AUS Log, Periodicity, Interval, Start Date, Duration, Start time, Change Threshold, Confidence Threshold, and Parallel Tasks.
  • SHOW AUTOUPDATE STATISTICS: Choose this command for a quick view of the AUS service parameters. The parameters displayed are AUS Status / AUS Log, Periodicity, Interval, and Duration.

The following table describes the parameters returned in the result set when the SHOW command is specified.

Parameter Description
AUS Status / AUS Log Indicates the status of the AUS service as ON/OFF.
Start Date The day on which the AUS service was enabled.
Start time The time at which the Maintenance Window was triggered.
Periodicity The frequency of updating the statistics expressed in DAY, WEEK or MONTH.
Interval The interval between each maintenance window. This is optional and default value will be 1.

If the INTERVAL value specified is 3 and the value of EVERY is day, it means that the Maintenance Window is configured to occur every 3 days

Duration The time duration for which the Maintenance Window will be executed expressed in terms of HOURS.
Change Threshold Represented in percentage, this is the criteria to trigger the AUS service. This is specified based on how often and what types of table statistics are generated.
Confidence Threshold Represented in percentage, this is the criteria to trigger the AUS service. This is specified based on the number of times the table is found to be is positive.
Parallel Tasks The number of threads that can start updating statistics in parallel with each thread updating the statistics for one table.
