OpenEdge security systems that these common authentication operations support include various types of database connections and ABL sessions. The types of database connections include connections from:
- ABL clients
- SQL clients
- Database command-line utilities, such as PROUTIL or PROMON Note: OpenEdge predefines certain built-in security domains for use by database utilities only.
The types of ABL sessions include:
- Full ABL clients, including batch clients
- WebClients
- PAS for OpenEdge multi-session agents
