In order to access .NET objects, OpenEdge requires the .NET Runtime to be installed on your system. You can use either .NET Framework 4.8 (Windows only) or .NET (Windows and Linux). To use .NET, you specify the .NET Common Language Runtime (-clrnetcore) startup parameter.

OpenEdge supports all ABL application development using .NET objects entirely with OpenEdge tools, especially using Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge.
