There are many ways to connect to an OpenEdge database. For detailed information about connecting to a database, see OpenEdge Data Management: Database Administration.

To connect to a database using the Data Dictionary:

  1. Choose Database > Connect. The Connect Database dialog box appears:


  2. Specify the database name and any necessary database information, then choose OK. See the Connect option for a complete description of the database attributes you can specify in the Connect Database dialog box.
    Note: You must select the Multiple Users toggle-box if you are running multi-user and you are trying to connect as a self-service client.
